If you’re dreaming about an Ireland elopement, one of the most exciting decisions you’ll make is where to say “I do”.

Ireland may be a relatively small country, but the choice of elopement locations is incredible. You can exchange vows on towering Atlantic cliffs, beside a medieval castle, inside a roofless chapel, among ancient ruins, beside a mountain lake or surrounded by some of the wildest landscapes in Europe.

So, what are the best places to elope in Ireland?

There’s no single answer. The right location depends on the experience you want, how many guests you’re bringing, how much privacy matters to you, accessibility, travel time, your budget and whether you’re planning a legal or symbolic ceremony.

Having helped international couples plan more than 1,500 weddings, elopements and vow renewals throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland since 2014, we’ve experienced first-hand how different each location can feel.

This guide brings together 20 of our favorite places to elope in Ireland, from famous landmarks such as the Cliffs of Moher to castle ruins, mountain churches, country houses and locations many overseas couples have never heard of before they start planning.

If you’re at the beginning of the planning process, you may also find our complete guide to how to elope in Ireland useful.

Accessibility, ceremony permissions, privacy and legal ceremony requirements can vary by location and ceremony type, so always confirm the arrangements for your specific wedding before booking.

1. Cliffs of Moher & Hags Head, County Clare

For couples imagining huge cliffs, crashing Atlantic waves and unmistakably Irish scenery, the Cliffs of Moher are difficult to beat.

They’re one of Ireland’s most famous natural landmarks, but where you choose to have your ceremony makes a major difference.

Our Cliffs of Moher elopements take place at Hags Head, at the quieter southern end of the cliffs rather than at the main visitor center.

Eloping in Ireland couples have private drive-up access close to the clifftop ceremony area, avoiding the long walk normally required to reach this section of the cliffs.

There’s another important advantage when you’re planning an outdoor wedding in Ireland: our Cliffs of Moher packages include an indoor weather backup.

Even if the weather isn’t suitable for the ceremony itself, there’s often still an opportunity to return to the cliffs for photographs if conditions improve.

Best for: Iconic Irish scenery, Atlantic cliffs, dramatic photography and couples wanting the classic Wild Atlantic Way experience.

Explore our Cliffs of Moher elopement packages.

2. Dunluce Castle, Northern Ireland

Imagine an ancient castle ruin perched dramatically above the Atlantic Ocean.

That’s Dunluce Castle on Northern Ireland’s spectacular Causeway Coast.

It’s one of our favorite choices for couples who can’t decide between a castle and dramatic coastal scenery because here you get both.

Eloping in Ireland packages include private vehicle access and an indoor weather backup, both particularly useful when planning from overseas.

The surrounding Causeway Coast is another major attraction. Your wedding photography adventure can incorporate beaches, cliffs, Dunseverick Castle and other historic landscapes without spending the entire day driving around Ireland.

Remember that Northern Ireland is a separate legal jurisdiction from the Republic of Ireland, so marriage requirements are different.

Best for: Castle ruins, Irish history, dramatic coastline and adventure photography.

Explore our Dunluce Castle elopement packages.

3. Three Castle Head, County Cork

If your idea of the perfect Ireland elopement involves getting away from the crowds, Three Castle Head is somewhere very special.

Located on the remote Mizen Peninsula in southwest Ireland, this extraordinary setting combines a medieval castle ruin, peaceful lake, rugged hills and Atlantic cliffs.

Getting there is part of the adventure.

A walk through the landscape brings you to ruins that can feel a world away from Ireland’s busier tourist attractions.

That remoteness is precisely what makes Three Castle Head so appealing.

Best for: Adventurous couples, privacy, ancient ruins, cliffs and wild landscapes.

Explore Three Castle Head and our other couple-only Lite elopement locations.

4. Slieve League Cliffs, County Donegal

The Cliffs of Moher may be Ireland’s most internationally recognized cliffs, but they’re certainly not Ireland’s only spectacular sea cliffs.

Slieve League in County Donegal rises dramatically above the Atlantic and offers enormous views across one of Ireland’s wildest regions.

For couples attracted to Donegal because of its rugged landscape and quieter atmosphere, this can be an extraordinary alternative to Ireland’s more famous visitor destinations.

The scale of the landscape is difficult to appreciate until you’re standing in it.

Best for: Huge landscapes, sea cliffs, Donegal adventures and couples wanting somewhere wilder and less obvious.

Explore Slieve League in our Lite elopement collection.

5. Killarney National Park, County Kerry

Not every Ireland elopement needs cliffs or castle ruins.

Killarney National Park offers thousands of acres of mountains, lakes, woodland and waterfalls, giving couples a completely different type of Irish landscape.

One of its biggest advantages is variety.

Depending on the experience you want, your photographs can incorporate lakes, forest, mountains and historic features without requiring a completely different part of the country for each backdrop.

Killarney is also surrounded by excellent accommodation, restaurants and some of Ireland’s best-known scenery, making it particularly appealing for couples turning their wedding into a longer Irish vacation.

Best for: Mountains, lakes, woodland, nature and couples who want lots of scenery in one region.

Explore Killarney National Park through our Lite elopement packages.

6. Slea Head & the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry

Head west from Killarney and you’ll eventually reach one of Ireland’s most spectacular coastal landscapes.

Slea Head, on the Dingle Peninsula, combines Atlantic Ocean views, rugged coastline, the Blasket Islands and a landscape filled with Irish history.

There’s something wonderfully remote about standing near Europe’s western edge with the Atlantic stretching out in front of you.

For couples planning a road trip or honeymoon around Kerry, it also works beautifully as part of a wider Ireland adventure.

Best for: Wild Atlantic scenery, coastal photography, Irish history and adventurous couple-only elopements.

Explore Slea Head in our Lite elopement collection.

7. Howth Cliffs, County Dublin

You don’t necessarily have to cross Ireland to find dramatic coastal scenery.

Howth sits just outside Dublin and combines Irish Sea views, cliff paths, rocky coastline and natural scenery with convenient access to the capital.

That makes it particularly interesting for couples planning a shorter trip or wanting to spend several days in Dublin.

It can also reduce the amount of travel involved in the wedding itself.

Best for: Dublin-based trips, coastal scenery, convenience and couples wanting cliffs without traveling to Ireland’s west coast.

Explore Howth Cliffs in our couple-only Lite packages.

8. Dunseverick Castle, Causeway Coast

Dunluce may be the better-known castle on the Causeway Coast, but Dunseverick Castle offers a completely different experience.

The remains of this ancient castle sit on a rugged headland surrounded by sea and open landscape.

Rather than a large medieval castle attraction, Dunseverick feels raw, simple and closely connected to the landscape.

It can also form part of a wider Causeway Coast photography adventure incorporating several very different locations.

Best for: Ancient history, rugged coast, privacy and adventurous castle-ruin elopements.

Explore our Ancient Ruins elopement locations.

9. Kinbane Castle, County Antrim

If you’re happy to trade easy access for adventure, Kinbane Castle is one of the most dramatic locations on Northern Ireland’s coast.

The castle ruins occupy a narrow headland surrounded by cliffs and sea.

It’s a very different experience from Dunluce.

Dunluce is larger and more recognizable; Kinbane feels smaller, wilder and considerably more adventurous.

The terrain means it won’t suit every couple or every guest group, which is exactly why accessibility should always be considered before choosing an elopement location based solely on photographs.

Best for: Adventure, rugged coastline, castle ruins and couples comfortable with challenging terrain.

Explore Kinbane Castle in our Lite elopement collection.

10. Dunlewey Church & the Donegal Mountains

Sitting beneath Mount Errigal beside Dunlewey Lough is one of Ireland’s most atmospheric roofless churches.

Dunlewey Church combines stone ruins, mountain scenery, water and the wild landscape of County Donegal.

For couples whose image of Ireland is mountains and lakes rather than castles and Atlantic cliffs, it offers something completely different.

Donegal itself is particularly appealing to couples who want their wedding trip to feel like an adventure rather than a tour of Ireland’s busiest attractions.

Best for: Mountains, lakes, church ruins, adventure and wild Irish scenery.

Explore Dunlewey Church in our Lite elopement collection.

11. Doonagore Castle, County Clare

For couples who want an Irish castle without sacrificing privacy, Doonagore Castle is a particularly special option.

This restored 16th-century castle stands above Doolin with views across the countryside and Atlantic towards the Aran Islands.

Doonagore Castle is normally closed to the public, but Eloping in Ireland has secured exclusive access for our couples, creating the opportunity for a genuinely private castle ceremony.

Its County Clare location also makes it possible to combine the castle with other spectacular scenery during your wedding photography.

Best for: Private castle ceremonies, Irish history, Doolin and couples wanting something genuinely exclusive.

Explore Doonagore Castle and our Irish Castle elopement packages.

12. Fiddaun Castle, County Galway

Ireland’s quieter castle ruins can sometimes be every bit as memorable as its famous landmarks.

Fiddaun Castle is a 16th-century tower house standing among rural Burren farmland.

Its isolated setting creates a completely different atmosphere from a busy castle attraction.

For couples looking for ancient stone, Irish countryside and a feeling of having discovered somewhere hidden, it can be an exceptional choice.

Best for: Privacy, castle ruins, countryside and couples wanting somewhere off the usual tourist trail.

Explore Fiddaun Castle in our Lite elopement collection.

13. Uragh Stone Circle, County Kerry

For couples drawn to Ireland’s ancient history, Uragh Stone Circle offers a ceremony setting unlike a conventional wedding venue.

The standing stones overlook the Beara Peninsula landscape and Lough Inchiquin, creating a wonderfully elemental setting for an intimate ceremony.

Stone-circle locations are particularly suited to couples interested in incorporating Irish-inspired traditions such as Celtic handfasting.

There is no ballroom or elaborate wedding setup required.

The landscape and thousands of years of history create the atmosphere.

Best for: Ancient Ireland, Celtic-inspired ceremonies, handfasting, mountains and intimate symbolic celebrations.

Explore Uragh Stone Circle through our Lite elopement packages or discover more Ancient Ruins wedding locations.

14. Aillwee Cave & the Burren, County Clare

How about getting married under Ireland rather than overlooking it?

Aillwee Cave provides one of the most unusual ceremony settings in our collection.

Located beneath the extraordinary Burren landscape, the cave creates a sheltered, atmospheric environment surrounded by ancient limestone formations.

It also offers something particularly valuable in Ireland: weather isn’t going to spoil an underground ceremony.

For couples who want somewhere genuinely different, this is one location their friends back home probably won’t have expected.

Best for: Something unusual, atmospheric ceremonies, the Burren and an indoor/all-weather experience.

Explore Aillwee Cave through our Lite elopement locations.

15. Guinness Lake / Lough Tay, County Wicklow

Ireland’s mountains begin surprisingly close to Dublin.

Lough Tay, commonly known as Guinness Lake, sits deep within the Wicklow Mountains and offers one of Ireland’s most recognizable mountain-and-lake landscapes.

For couples using Dublin as their base, Wicklow can provide a taste of wild Ireland without requiring a journey across the country.

It’s particularly appealing if you prefer mountains and valleys to Atlantic cliffs.

Best for: Mountains, lakes, Wicklow scenery and couples staying around Dublin.

Explore Guinness Lake in our Lite elopement collection.

16. Ardcroney Church, County Clare

Outdoor locations aren’t the only way to have an atmospheric Irish elopement.

Ardcroney Church offers a historic indoor setting, combining traditional Irish character with the reassurance of an indoor ceremony.

That creates an interesting combination: hold the ceremony somewhere protected from the weather, then head outside for wedding photographs around some of County Clare’s historic scenery.

For couples who love historic architecture but don’t necessarily want to gamble their entire ceremony on the weather, it’s worth considering.

Best for: Historic character, indoor ceremonies and couples wanting weather protection.

Explore Ardcroney Church through our Lite elopement packages.

17. A Hidden Woodland Chapel Ruin

Some of Ireland’s most romantic locations aren’t famous landmarks at all.

Our Woodland Chapel Ruin creates an entirely different atmosphere from cliffs and castles.

Imagine exchanging vows among trees, moss-covered stone and the remains of an ancient chapel.

Instead of enormous open landscapes, you get something intimate, secluded and almost storybook-like.

Woodland also changes dramatically through the seasons, from fresh spring greenery to the richer textures of fall.

Best for: Romance, privacy, woodland, history and couples wanting somewhere secluded.

Explore our Ancient Ruins elopement locations.

18. Cahernane House, County Kerry

For couples who love the scenery of Killarney but want the comfort and elegance of a country-house setting, Cahernane House is an excellent choice.

Set close to Killarney National Park, Cahernane combines historic Irish country-house character with easy access to some of County Kerry’s most beautiful landscapes.

That gives couples the best of both worlds: an elegant setting for the ceremony and celebration, with Killarney’s mountains, lakes, woodland and historic scenery nearby for photographs.

It’s particularly appealing for couples bringing family and friends because a country-house wedding can make the day considerably easier logistically than transporting a group to a remote outdoor location.

There’s also the reassurance of having indoor options if the Irish weather doesn’t cooperate.

For couples traveling from overseas, being based around Killarney also means accommodation, restaurants and many of Ireland’s most famous landscapes are close at hand.

Best for: Country-house romance, Killarney scenery, guests, elegant indoor ceremonies and couples wanting comfort without losing the Irish landscape experience.

Explore Cahernane House and the other possibilities in our full collection of Ireland elopement packages.

19. Kinnitty Castle, County Offaly

If getting married in a real Irish castle is part of the dream, Kinnitty Castle delivers the atmosphere many overseas couples imagine when they picture a destination wedding in Ireland.

Set against the backdrop of the Slieve Bloom Mountains, this historic castle combines stone architecture, woodland and extensive grounds with the convenience of a full castle venue.

Unlike a remote castle ruin, Kinnitty gives couples the opportunity to bring the different parts of the wedding day together in one place.

Your ceremony, photographs, celebration and accommodation can all form part of the same castle experience, which can be particularly useful when you’re bringing guests from the USA or Canada.

It also provides indoor ceremony and celebration possibilities, meaning you’re not completely dependent on Ireland’s weather.

For photographs, the castle itself, surrounding woodland and grounds provide plenty of variety without requiring hours of travel on your wedding day.

Best for: A classic Irish castle wedding, guests, accommodation, woodland, indoor options and couples wanting the complete castle experience.

Explore Kinnitty Castle and our Irish Castle elopement packages.

20. Newtown Castle, County Clare

For something completely different from a large castle hotel, consider Newtown Castle in the Burren.

This historic castle tower offers the kind of setting many couples imagine when they first start dreaming about getting married in Ireland: thick stone walls, centuries of history and a building that feels unmistakably Irish.

Its setting in County Clare is another major advantage.

The Burren is one of Ireland’s most distinctive landscapes, while the wider region provides access to dramatic Atlantic scenery, traditional villages and some of the country’s best-known sights.

A historic tower such as Newtown Castle provides a more intimate experience than a large traditional wedding venue and works particularly well for couples who want the ceremony itself to feel historic and atmospheric.

It also gives you the opportunity to combine two very different sides of Ireland in the same wedding experience — an ancient castle setting for the ceremony followed by photographs among the Burren’s extraordinary limestone landscape or along the County Clare coastline.

Best for: Medieval Irish history, intimate ceremonies, castle architecture, the Burren and couples wanting something atmospheric rather than a traditional hotel wedding.

Explore Newtown Castle and our Ancient Ruins elopement locations.

Which Ireland elopement location is best for you?

Twenty locations can make choosing feel harder rather than easier, so start with the type of experience you want rather than the name of a particular place.

Best for iconic Irish scenery

Start with the Cliffs of Moher and Hags Head.

Few landscapes are more immediately associated with Ireland, particularly for couples traveling from the USA or Canada.

Best for castles and coastline

Consider Dunluce Castle.

You get historic castle ruins and dramatic Atlantic scenery in the same experience.

Best for mountains and lakes

Look at Killarney National Park, Dunlewey Church or Guinness Lake.

These are particularly good choices if the Ireland you’re imagining is green mountains, lakes and wild countryside rather than sea cliffs.

Best for adventure

Consider Three Castle Head, Kinbane Castle, Slieve League or Slea Head.

These locations are about the journey and landscape as much as the ceremony itself.

Many of these couple-only adventure locations are included in our Lite Elopement Packages.

Best for privacy

Private or remote locations such as Doonagore Castle, Three Castle Head, Fiddaun Castle and our Woodland Chapel Ruin are worth exploring.

Remember, however, that privacy can vary by date, time and access arrangements.

Best for an Irish castle experience

If you’re imagining staying and celebrating in an Irish castle, Kinnitty Castle is very different from a castle ruin.

It combines the atmosphere of a historic Irish castle with accommodation, indoor spaces and the practical advantages of having much of your wedding experience in one location.

If you’d prefer something smaller and more intimate, Newtown Castle offers a historic castle-tower experience, while Dunluce Castle, Doonagore Castle, Kinbane Castle and Fiddaun Castle each provide their own interpretation of an Irish castle elopement.

Explore more possibilities in our Irish Castle elopement collection.

Best for a country-house wedding

Consider Cahernane House if you’d like an elegant venue while still being surrounded by the scenery of Killarney and County Kerry.

This can be particularly attractive when you’re bringing guests and want the convenience of a traditional venue without giving up access to Ireland’s mountains, lakes and countryside.

Best for ancient Ireland

Consider Uragh Stone Circle, Dunseverick Castle, Newtown Castle, Fiddaun Castle or one of our ancient church and castle ruins.

These locations are particularly appealing if Ireland’s history is one of the reasons you’ve chosen to marry here.

See more possibilities in our Ancient Ruins elopement collection.

Best for unpredictable Irish weather

No outdoor location can guarantee the weather.

Instead, look for a plan that works regardless of it.

Our Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head and Dunluce Castle packages include indoor weather backup arrangements, while locations such as Aillwee Cave, Ardcroney Church, Cahernane House and Kinnitty Castle provide indoor possibilities.

Best places to elope in Ireland with guests

Guest numbers can completely change which location makes sense.

A remote cliff or castle ruin that’s incredible for two people may be impractical for 25 guests, particularly if some guests are older, have mobility limitations or you’re arranging transportation for everyone.

For larger intimate groups, consider locations and packages where access, parking, indoor space, dining and accommodation can be coordinated more easily.

Venues such as Kinnitty Castle and Cahernane House, together with other Irish castles, country houses and selected private locations, can therefore become particularly attractive once you’re bringing family and friends.

If you’re planning to bring around 10–30 guests, read our complete guide to planning a small destination wedding in Ireland.

Best couple-only Ireland elopement locations

If you’re traveling to Ireland with just the two of you, your options become much wider.

You don’t need to worry about moving 20 guests, arranging a large reception or choosing somewhere suitable for everyone’s mobility needs.

That makes adventurous locations such as Slieve League, Three Castle Head, Slea Head, Dunseverick Castle, Kinbane Castle, Dunlewey Church, Fiddaun Castle, Uragh Stone Circle and Guinness Lake particularly interesting.

Our Lite Elopement Packages were created specifically for couple-only ceremonies and offer a collection of locations around Ireland and Northern Ireland.

What should you consider when choosing an Ireland elopement location?

It’s very easy to fall in love with one photograph.

But before choosing your ceremony location, consider how the place will actually work on your wedding day.

Privacy

Ask whether the ceremony location itself is private and how busy the surrounding area normally becomes.

A famous attraction can look completely empty in a carefully framed photograph while being very different in reality.

Accessibility

How far do you have to walk?

Are there steps?

Is the ground uneven?

Can a vehicle get close to the ceremony?

This becomes particularly important when you’re bringing parents, grandparents, young children or anyone with limited mobility.

Irish weather

Ireland’s weather can change quickly at any time of year.

Rather than trying to find a month when it definitely won’t rain, ask:

What happens if the weather isn’t suitable for our ceremony?

A proper answer to that question is far more valuable than a long-range weather forecast.

Guest numbers

A location that’s perfect for two people may not work for 20.

Consider transportation, parking, ceremony space, accessibility, bathrooms and what everyone will do immediately before and after the ceremony.

Travel time

Look at your whole wedding day rather than the ceremony in isolation.

Where will you get ready?

How long is the drive?

Where will you take photographs?

Where will you have dinner?

Trying to fit too much into one day can leave you spending more of your wedding in a car than actually enjoying Ireland.

Legal or symbolic ceremony

A beautiful place for a ceremony isn’t automatically an approved or practical location for every type of legally binding marriage.

The rules are also different between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

If having your legal marriage ceremony in Ireland matters to you, investigate the legal process before finalizing your location.

Read our Legal Requirements guide for more information. Couples considering Dunluce Castle, Kinbane Castle, Dunseverick Castle or other Northern Ireland locations should also read our complete guide to how to elope in Ireland, which explains the important distinction between the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Can we visit several locations on our wedding day?

Absolutely.

Your ceremony location doesn’t have to be the only place you visit.

Many couples hold their ceremony at one location and turn the photography portion of the day into an Ireland adventure, visiting cliffs, beaches, castle ruins, mountains or a traditional Irish pub afterward.

This works particularly well around the Causeway Coast, County Clare, Kerry and Donegal, where very different scenery can often be found within a manageable area.

It also means your wedding gallery can tell the story of an entire Irish adventure rather than one ceremony location.

Famous Ireland elopement location or somewhere hidden?

There’s no right answer.

A famous location such as the Cliffs of Moher gives you an iconic piece of Ireland that you may have dreamed about for years.

A hidden ruin, remote castle or mountain landscape gives you something more unexpected.

We’ve planned both.

And some of the locations our couples eventually fall in love with are places they’d never heard of before they started planning their wedding.

That’s one of the advantages of working with planners based here in Ireland: we’re not limited to the locations that repeatedly appear in international wedding blogs and Instagram feeds.

Frequently asked questions about Ireland elopement locations

What is the most popular place to elope in Ireland?

The Cliffs of Moher are one of the locations most strongly associated with Ireland elopements, particularly among couples traveling from the USA and Canada. However, castles, ancient ruins, mountains, lakes and quieter coastal locations can be better choices depending on the experience you want.

Where is the best place to elope in Ireland?

There isn’t one location that’s best for every couple. The Cliffs of Moher are excellent for iconic Atlantic scenery; Dunluce Castle combines castles and coastline; Killarney offers mountains and lakes; Three Castle Head suits adventure and privacy; and Ireland’s ancient ruins are ideal for couples drawn to history.

Where can we elope in Ireland with no guests?

Couple-only elopements can take place at many locations throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. Our Lite collection includes options such as Slieve League, Killarney National Park, Slea Head, Three Castle Head, Howth, Dunseverick Castle, Aillwee Cave, Fiddaun Castle, Uragh Stone Circle, Guinness Lake, Dunlewey Church and Kinbane Castle.

Where can we elope in Ireland with guests?

Private castles, country houses and selected cliff or ruin locations can accommodate guests. The best option depends on your exact group size, accessibility requirements, transportation and whether you also need accommodation or a reception venue.

Kinnitty Castle and Cahernane House are particularly useful examples of locations where a more traditional venue setup can make planning for guests easier.

For more detail, read our Small Destination Wedding Ireland guide.

What is the best Ireland elopement location near Dublin?

Howth Cliffs and the Wicklow Mountains are useful options for couples who want dramatic scenery while remaining relatively close to Dublin. Guinness Lake/Lough Tay provides mountain scenery in Wicklow, while Howth offers cliffs and coastal views.

What are the best castle locations for an Ireland elopement?

Ireland offers several very different castle experiences.

Kinnitty Castle provides the classic castle venue experience, while Newtown Castle offers a more intimate historic tower setting. Dunluce Castle combines dramatic ruins with Atlantic scenery, Doonagore Castle offers privacy in County Clare, and Kinbane and Fiddaun provide more adventurous ruin settings.

Explore our complete Irish Castle elopement collection.

What if it rains on our Ireland elopement day?

Build weather flexibility into the plan from the beginning.

Some packages, including our Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head and Dunluce Castle packages, include indoor backup arrangements. Indoor or venue-based locations such as Aillwee Cave, Ardcroney Church, Cahernane House and Kinnitty Castle provide other alternatives.

Can Americans legally get married at these locations?

Americans and Canadians can legally marry in Ireland, but the ceremony and location must satisfy the relevant legal requirements. Northern Ireland operates under a separate marriage system. A symbolic ceremony gives couples greater flexibility over location.

Read our Ireland marriage legal requirements guide before deciding between a legal and symbolic ceremony.

When is the best time of year to elope in Ireland?

Every season has advantages. Spring brings increasing daylight and green landscapes, summer provides the longest days, fall can be atmospheric with fewer peak-season visitors, and winter can provide greater privacy but shorter daylight hours.

Weather can be changeable throughout the year.

How far in advance should we choose our location?

For the widest choice of dates and wedding vendors, beginning the planning process around 9–12 months ahead is comfortable for many couples.

Popular dates and locations may require more notice, while simple couple-only and off-season elopements can sometimes be arranged faster.

Still not sure where to elope in Ireland?

That’s completely normal.

You don’t need to arrive with a location already chosen.

Start with what you want the day to feel like.

Do you picture yourselves standing above the Atlantic? Inside an ancient castle? Beside a mountain lake? Among centuries-old ruins? Somewhere completely private? Or celebrating afterward in a traditional Irish pub?

Once you know the experience you’re looking for, narrowing down the location becomes much easier.
