FLEXIBLE DATE POLICY (NO RESCHEDULING FEES)
Plans changed? No problem — your date is always flexible.
When you book a package with Eloping in Ireland, your date isn’t locked in forever. If your plans change for any reason, you can simply choose a new available date that suits you — with no rescheduling fees.
We keep things easy, flexible, and completely stress-free so you can focus on the fun part.
14 DAY COOLING-OFF PERIOD:
The couple are entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of booking. If you choose to cancel during this time, a refund will be issued with an administration fee of €500 deducted. Please note that if planning work, bookings, or services have already begun on your behalf, only a partial refund may be available to reflect costs already incurred.
If you wish to cancel within the 14-day cooling-off period, please contact Eloping in Ireland directly and we will guide you through the cancellation process.
After the 14-day cooling-off period has expired, payments made become non-refundable. This is because planning services will have commenced and fees, taxes, charges, and supplier-related costs connected with your wedding or elopement may have already been committed or paid on your behalf.
CANCELLATION AFTER THE 14-DAY COOLING-OFF PERIOD
If you choose to cancel your elopement, wedding, or vow renewal after the 14-day cooling-off period has ended, any booking fee and any other deposits already paid are non-refundable.
However, any remaining balance due for your event will be waived, meaning you will not owe any further payments after cancellation.
If you decide to postpone rather than cancel, we will always do our best to accommodate a new available date in line with our postponement policy.
We understand that unexpected situations can happen, and our aim is to be as fair and flexible as possible while covering planning work, administration, and costs already incurred.
ELOPEMENT WEDDING PACKAGE:
The booking fee advised in your quote must be paid in advance to secure your date and begin the planning service. The booking fee covers planning work, administration, insurance, taxes, and associated business costs, and is non-refundable if the event or services of Eloping in Ireland are cancelled for any reason.
All remaining deposits and balance payments will be paid directly by the couple to venues, suppliers, or service providers. Together with the booking fee, these payments make up the total quoted package price.
Quoted package prices include the supplier’s service fees where stated, but do not include any additional travel expenses that may apply if your getting ready location or venue is outside a supplier’s local area. Transaction fees charged by payment providers or banks are also not included. Please note that certain costs outside the control of Eloping in Ireland — including reception menu prices and currency exchange rates — may change over time and therefore cannot be guaranteed.
SERVICE EXCLUSIONS:
The standard planning service provided by Eloping in Ireland does not include the following:
- Legal marriage paperwork support: The legal marriage process and paperwork are handled directly by the Marriage Registrar for legally binding ceremonies.
- On-the-day wedding coordination: Attendance by an Eloping in Ireland planner on your wedding day is not included as standard but can be arranged on request.
- Flights, accommodation, and travel bookings: Booking flights, accommodation, tours, transport, or other travel arrangements is not included. However, our travel partner can assist with these services if required.
VENUE, SERVICE & SUPPLIER CONTRACTS:
The venues, suppliers, and services included within your package are booked and paid for directly by the couple, with these costs forming part of the total quoted package price. As a result, any agreements for these services are made directly between the couple and the relevant venue or supplier.
Eloping in Ireland will provisionally arrange and coordinate bookings on your behalf during the planning process. Once confirmed, venues and suppliers may communicate directly with you regarding payments, requirements, or final arrangements.
In the unlikely event that a chosen venue or supplier becomes unavailable after booking, Eloping in Ireland will do its best to recommend and arrange a suitable alternative option. If a selected reception venue is unavailable for any reason, an alternative venue will be offered.
VENUE, SERVICE & SUPPLIER CANCELLATION:
In the event that any venue, service or supplier cancels prior to the date of the event, the couple agrees that ‘Eloping in Ireland’ may substitute a new venue, service or supplier.
WARRANTY:
‘Eloping in Ireland’ warrants that its services shall be performed in accordance with industry practice. For the avoidance of doubt ‘Eloping in Ireland’ does not provide any warranty whatsoever in respect of the performance or quality of any venue, service or supplier, nor shall ‘Eloping in Ireland’ be liable in any way whatsoever in respect thereof.
CLIFFS OF MOHER/HAGS HEAD & DUNLUCE CASTLE:
A location fee applies for ceremonies at the Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head and Dunluce Castle and is included within your quoted package price. The standard location fee is €250 for Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head and £350 GBP for Dunluce Castle for couple-only ceremonies (higher fees may apply for larger groups). If booking a photo session only at Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head, the location fee is €100.
This fee must be paid in cash directly to the landowner by the couple (or someone assigned by the couple) on the day of the event. The location fee provides private access by car close to the ceremony area and helps ensure only one Eloping in Ireland ceremony takes place at the location at any given time (although the area remains open to the public).
Please note that ceremonies at these locations are standing ceremonies, as chairs are not permitted. An indoor backup venue is available at the access point for both Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head and Dunluce Castle in the event of poor weather
ANCIENT RUINS:
Ancient Ruins venues are state-owned public sites and cannot be privately hired for ceremonies. Many are located in remote areas, but it is not possible to guarantee that tourists or other visitors will not be present during your ceremony. In rare cases, another wedding may also be taking place at the same venue. If this happens, your officiant will simply wait until the earlier ceremony has finished before beginning yours.
Please note that ceremonies at Ancient Ruins are standing ceremonies, as chairs are not permitted at these locations. Due to the age and condition of many historic sites, venues may occasionally close to the public at short notice for essential maintenance, conservation work, or safety reasons. There is also a possibility that weddings could be restricted or prohibited at certain sites in the future by the relevant authorities.
If a venue becomes unavailable, Eloping in Ireland will recommend a suitable alternative location. Any additional costs associated with a replacement venue would be the responsibility of the couple. Couples and guests attend Ancient Ruins venues at their own risk due to the uneven surfaces, age, and natural condition of these historic sites.
OUTDOOR EVENTS
The weather in Ireland can be very changeable and unpredictable, and there is always a possibility of rain, strong winds, or colder temperatures — regardless of the season. For couples planning an outdoor ceremony, we strongly recommend considering a backup indoor venue to provide extra peace of mind.
Backup indoor venues can typically cost between €200 and €500+, depending on the location and availability. Your planner will be happy to discuss suitable options and arrange this for you if required.
Please note that a backup indoor venue is already included within our Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head and Dunluce Castle packages, so no additional booking is required for these locations.
REGISTRAR:
The Registrar is the government official responsible for handling the legal marriage paperwork required for legally binding ceremonies in Ireland (this does not apply to symbolic ceremonies or vow renewals). The Registrar works directly with the couple throughout the process, which is usually straightforward once all documents have been provided.
For legal marriages in Ireland, couples must submit the required paperwork at least 3 months before their wedding date. The couple will also need to attend an in-person meeting with the Registrar, usually 3–5 working days before the ceremony, to finalise and sign the paperwork. Once all required documents have been received, the Registrar will confirm the date and time of this appointment.
As meeting dates cannot be guaranteed in advance, we recommend waiting until your Registrar appointment has been confirmed before booking flights or accommodation. It is the sole responsibility of the couple to communicate directly with the Registrar and complete all legal requirements within the required timelines. Eloping in Ireland and other third parties cannot act on behalf of the couple in legal marriage paperwork matters.
INDEMNITY:
The couple indemnifies, will reimburse and holds harmless ‘Eloping in Ireland’, its directors, officers, employees, agents servants and subcontractors from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, judgements or causes of action, including costs and expenses incidental thereto, for or on account of injury to or death of persons (including but not limited to employees, servants and agents of the Client) or for loss of or damage to property (including but not limited to the property of the Client) howsoever arising out of the performance or non-performance of this Agreement and of whatever nature (whether in contract, tort under statute or otherwise at law or in equity) unless due to the recklessness of ‘Eloping in Ireland’.
In no circumstances shall either Party be or become liable to the other for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage (including without limitation loss of revenue or use, loss of profits, wasted expenditure, diminution in value or loss of agreements) suffered or incurred by the other in connection with this Agreement.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
Limitation of liability under this agreement: except as provided otherwise in this agreement the warranties set forth herein, the obligations and liabilities of team under this agreement, and the rights and remedies of the customer under this agreement are exclusive of and are accepted by the customer in lieu of all other representations and warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for intended use or any other liability of any nature whatsoever in respect of work done or services provided or anything delivered by ‘Eloping in Ireland’. Without limitation of the foregoing except where explicit provision is made herein for liquidated damages ‘Eloping in Ireland’ will have no liability under any circumstances for damage, for loss of use, revenue or profit or other indirect or consequential damages of any kind arising from ‘Eloping in Ireland’ performance or non-performance of the services. This warranty may not be extended or altered except by amendment in writing of this agreement. Without prejudice to the foregoing and for the avoidance of doubt all further conditions, warranties or representations which may be expressed or implied by statute, law in equity by trade usage or custom or otherwise in this agreement or in relation to the supply of services are hereby expressly excluded.
FORCE MAJEURE:
‘‘Eloping in Ireland’ shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations or delay in performance of the same under this Agreement where such failure or delay is due to Acts of God, war, invasion, or military action, acts, orders, civil disturbance, strikes, lock outs, trade disputes causing cessation or slowdown of work, or inability to procure services or material after due and timely diligence, late deliveries or late performances of services from sub-contractors or Third Party Suppliers, breakdown of machinery, fire, flood, accident, a pandemic/epidemic or any cause beyond the reasonable control of ‘Eloping in Ireland’ whether or not similar to the causes specifically mentioned herein.
ENTIRE AGREEMENT:
This Agreement contains the entire agreement of the Parties in respect of the subject matter hereof, and supersedes all prior agreements whether oral or written between the Parties. The couple has had the opportunity to take legal advice in respect of this Agreement and confirms that they fully understand its nature and the benefits, obligations and liabilities arising hereunder.
APPLICABLE LAW:
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland and the
Parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.
