Terms & Conditions

  1. The booking fee amount advised must be paid in advance to book the wedding planning service and secure the date. The booking fee payment is not refundable should the wedding or services of ‘Eloping in Ireland’ be cancelled for any reason. If the couple decide to postpone their wedding the booking fee can be transferred to a new available date. However, this is at the sole discretion of ‘Eloping in Ireland’. Every effort will be made to accommodate the couple with a new suitable date but if this is not possible the booking fee will remain non-refundable. No fees are charged by ‘Eloping in Ireland’ for rescheduling but it can’t be guaranteed that the vendor fees will be the same for the new date.
  2. All further deposits and balance payments will be made directly to the ceremony/reception venue and suppliers by the couple. These fees + the booking fee will total the quoted package price. The quoted package price includes the fee & service of the supplier but does not include any travel expenses that might need to be added, if the ceremony venue is located outside the local area of any supplier. The quoted package price also does not include any transaction fees incurred by the couple when paying the deposit or balance payments etc. Please note reception menu prices & currency exchange rates are not guaranteed as these fluctuate, which is beyond the control of ‘Eloping in Ireland’.

The services of ‘Eloping in Ireland’ does NOT include the below;

  • Legal & paperwork assistance. (This is provided by the Registrar at a cost of €220).
  • On the day co-ordination by an ‘Eloping in Ireland’ wedding planner. (This service can be booked on request. From €300 for wedding morning co-ordination and from €600 for day of co-ordination).
  • Booking of flights, tours or accommodation. (Our travel partner can assist with this).

The venue/venues, services and suppliers are booked and paid for directly by the couple (the fees are included in the quoted package price). Therefore, the contract for each is solely between the venue, service or supplier and the couple. ‘Eloping in Ireland’ will provisionally book the venue/venues, services and suppliers. They will all then be in direct contact with the couple. If the chosen reception venue (at the time of booking the package) becomes unavailable for any reason an alternative venue will be offered (price could be higher or lower).

In the event that any venue, service or supplier cancels prior to the date of the wedding, the couple agrees that ‘Eloping in Ireland’ may substitute a new venue, service or supplier with or without advance notice to the couple at their discretion and any additional costs to be paid by the couple.

‘Eloping in Ireland’ warrants that its services shall be performed in accordance with industry practice. For the avoidance of doubt ‘Eloping in Ireland’ does not provide any warranty whatsoever in respect of the performance or quality of any venue, service or supplier, nor shall ‘Eloping in Ireland’ be liable in any way whatsoever in respect thereof.

A location fee of €250 for the Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head and £350 GBP for Dunluce Castle (up to 10 people, a higher fee applies for more than this) is included in the package price. If having a photo session only at the Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head the location fee is €100. This fee is to be paid in cash directly to the landowner by the couple (or someone assigned by the couple) on the day of their wedding. This location fee allows private access by car to the top of the Cliffs and also ensures exclusivity of the area for your wedding ie. only one wedding taking place there (not closed off to the public). Please also note these weddings are standing ceremonies as chairs are prohibited. The backup indoor venue is located at the access point to the Cliffs/Dunluce Castle and can accommodate a maximum of 20 people.

All Ancient Ruins venues are state owned and public property. Therefore it’s not possible to privately hire the venue for your ceremony. Most of them are in remote locations but it can’t be guaranteed that no tourists will be there at the time of your ceremony. However, once they see a wedding taking place they will stay clear. It’s also a possibility that another wedding will be taking place there. If this is the case the officiant will wait for the wedding to finish and then yours will begin. Please also note all Ancient Ruins weddings are standing ceremonies as chairs are prohibited. Due to the age & condition of Ancient Ruins buildings there is a possibility that they may have to close to the public for essential maintenance/repair work at very short notice. Also, the state could, at any stage, prohibit weddings from taking place at an Ancient Ruins site. If this happens ‘Eloping in Ireland’ will recommend a suitable replacement venue for which any additional costs are to be paid by the couple. The couple and their guests enter Ancient Ruins buildings at their own risk.

The weather in Ireland is very changeable and unpredictable. There is always a chance of rain, wind and a cold day. If a couple is having an outdoor wedding the option is there to hire a backup indoor venue. This can cost between €200 and €500+. Please discuss this further with your wedding planner if you would like to book. A backup indoor venue is included in the Cliffs of Moher/Hags Head & Dunluce Castle packages.

The Registrar is the person that handles all the legal & paperwork requirements (not applicable for symbolic or vow renewal ceremonies). They work directly with the couple to help them through this process. It’s usually relatively straightforward. The couple are required to meet with the registrar to finalise and sign the paperwork 3-5 working days before their wedding. Once the Registrar has received all the necessary paperwork (must be done a minimum of 3 months before the date of the wedding) they will confirm the date and time of your meeting with them. It is recommended to only book flights and accommodation once your meeting date is known. It’s the sole responsibility of the couple to communicate with the Registrar in order to complete the paperwork before the 3 month deadline. ‘Eloping in Ireland’ nor any other ‘Third Party’ can act on behalf of the couple.

The couple indemnifies, will reimburse and holds harmless ‘Eloping in Ireland’, its directors, officers, employees, agents servants and subcontractors from and against any and all claims, demands, suits, judgements or causes of action, including costs and expenses incidental thereto, for or on account of injury to or death of persons (including but not limited to employees, servants and agents of the Client) or for loss of or damage to property (including but not limited to the property of the Client) howsoever arising out of the performance or non-performance of this Agreement and of whatever nature (whether in contract, tort under statute or otherwise at law or in equity) unless due to the recklessness of ‘Eloping in Ireland’.

Without prejudice to the foregoing and for the avoidance of doubt all further conditions, warranties or representations which may be expressed or implied by statute, law in equity by trade usage or custom or otherwise in this agreement or in relation to the supply of services are hereby expressly excluded.

The couple are entitled to a cooling off period of 14 days. During this time a full refund (with an administration fee of €500 deducted) will be issued (except when the provision of services has already begun, where only a partial refund will be paid). If you wish to cancel within the 14 day cooling off period please contact ‘Eloping in Ireland’ and they will advise the procedure to follow. After the cooling off period has expired the fees, taxes & charges that apply to the wedding are paid out and become nonrefundable to ‘Eloping in Ireland’ and the couple.

‘‘Eloping in Ireland’ shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations or delay in performance of the same under this Agreement where such failure or delay is due to Acts of God, war, invasion, or military action, acts, orders, civil disturbance, strikes, lock outs, trade disputes causing cessation or slowdown of work, or inability to procure services or material after due and timely diligence, late deliveries or late performances of services from sub-contractors or Third Party Suppliers, breakdown of machinery, fire, flood, accident, a pandemic/epidemic or any cause beyond the reasonable control of ‘Eloping in Ireland’ whether or not similar to the causes specifically mentioned herein.

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland and the
Parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.
